Choose hardstand
Heavy equipment needs solid ground. Concrete or compacted gravel prevents sinking and makes it easier to load out when the next job comes up.
Secure moving parts
Lower buckets to the ground, retract booms and engage all brakes and locks. This prevents accidental movement and reduces the risk of damage or theft.
Check fluid levels
Top up engine oil, hydraulic fluid and coolant before storing. Running gear dry during long storage periods can cause internal corrosion.
Disconnect batteries
